Conventional hydromounts represent a compromise when it comes to good isolation and good damping. There is an advantage in adapting the characteristics of mounting components to the respective driving conditions. This is realized with adaptive hydromounts.
The stiffness characteristics and damping behavior of adaptive hydromounts can be altered. For the sake of optimum isolation, hydraulic damping can, for example, be switched off when the engine is in idle. The damping function is switched on during driving to improve the vehicle's handling performance.
